We’ve written in the past with mouth-watering anticipation of the impending opening of Sister Pie. To say that we’re smitten with Salted Maple, or a little in love with the Lemon Merangue is an understatement.
Lisa Ludwinski, the creator of the place, is a story in herself. After winning the Hatch Detroit competition, she went on to do a second round of crowdfunding through a dance-break-a-thon and somehow pull this place together.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Sister Pie. They’ve done phenomenal work activating another retail space in West Village and we know they’ll be a great asset to the community for years to come,” said Ashley Hennen, who does communications for Hatch Detroit (which by the way, the next edition of their annual contest for $50,000 for a retail business in the D is just around the corner).
So this morning we bought a few slices of pretty much every pie they had ($4 a slice) and took some pictures. Enjoy. They’ll be open to all starting tomorrow at 2082 Parker Street and their hours are going to be Tuesday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
