On occasion I come across events on Facebook that make me spit out my coffee from laughing. Something so clever that it makes you want to find out more.

This is one of those events.

On Friday, December 15 the Joebar in Hazel Park will turn into “Jewbar.” It will be an evening celebrating Hanukkah.

There will be jelly donuts, a latke bar, Jewish cheesecake, Schmaltz Brews (who knew?), vodka cocktails and dreidel drinking games.

I reached out to one of the owners of Joebar, Cari Vaughn to find out where they came up with the idea for Jewbar.

“We always have a big Hanukkah party,” said Vaughn. “So this year it was only natural to turn joebar into Jewbar and share the festivities with the community and our neighbors.”

Jewbar is for everyone, so bring the kids along.

You can find out more information about Jewbar on the Facebook event.

The party starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes until Midnight.

Joebar is located at 23839 John R Road #1 Hazel Park, Michigan 48030

p.s. – Yes, we’re aware there are multiple ways to spell the holiday of “Hanukkah.” We went with the way they did.
