Menorah in the D will be returning to Campus Martius for a seventh year to celebrate Chanukah.

The 26 foot Menorah will be lit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12 which is the first night of Chanukah.

Prior to the Menorah lighting there will be a ton of family friendly activities like; Chanukah crafts, face painting, jugglers, and an opportunity to take pictures with the Dreidel mascot.

The Detroit Pistons Extreme Team will also be performing a high-energy show before the menorah lighting.

There will be complimentary snacks, hot soup, traditional sufganiyot (round jelly doughnuts), marshmallow roasting and Roasting Plant coffee.

If you need to really nosh there will be additional Kosher food options from area caterers for sale. Bring your cash, because it’s cash only.

Menorah in the D is hosted by The Shul-Chabad Lubavich in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and Chabad of Greater Downtown Detroit.

Menorah in the D is a free event, but be sure you RSVP in advance.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude following the menorah lighting.
