To state the obvious, it’s been windy here in Metro Detroit today. But just how windy has it been? And what are the impacts? Construction Work Underway For The New Park On West Side Of Downtown (PICS)

A tipster sent us photos of work underway at what some are calling the second Campus Martius Park. DTE Energy announced the 1.5 acre park back in June. Detroit-based DTE Energy announced today it donated $2.5 million to assist low-income residents in the city of Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Plans Revealed To Build Solar Array In Decommissioned Detroit Park

DTE Energy has plans to build a solar energy array on 10 acres of vacant public property in a west-side Detroit neighborhood. The array itself would be built on a 20-acre area of city-owned land south of I-96 at Greenfield Road known as O’Shea Playground. The site was decommissioned by the city’s recreation department in 2011 and has since been stripped and damaged by fire. DTE Energy announced today a partnership with Domino’s Farms and Ford Motor Company to build and operate the two largest solar arrays in Michigan. DTE has started building a 1.1-megawatt photovoltaic solar array at Domino’s Farms east of Ann Arbor. The array will be completed and operational by the end of the year. It may be one of the smaller buildings, but downtown Detroit has yet another renovation success story. DTE Energy has completed renovating the long-vacant Art Deco building across the street from its downtown Detroit headquarters as part of its investment in the neighborhood that the company has called home for more than a century.
