More than 800 food and wine enthusiasts are going to get together to taste wine and support charity at the same time.

For every dollar raised, it will provide three nutritious meals for hungry neighbors in southeast Michigan through Gleaners.

Detroit UnCorked will feature over 300 premium wines from around the world and samples of food from more 15+ Detroit area restaurants. Oh, and if wine isn’t your thing, there also will be Michigan craft beers and craft cocktails.

Fox 2 Detroit anchor and 100.3 WNIC morning host Jay Towers will emcee the VIP Experience that offers ultra-premium spirit tastings, a strolling dinner and a chance to meet representatives from the DWO’s 2016 Winery of the Year. There’s also a VIP Experience that will have exclusive access to the most rare and limited wines.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the evening and The Detroit Wine Organization will award Joel Gott Wines with its coveted 2016 Winery of the Year award. A silent auction filled with unique, high-end items including rare wines, one-of-a-kind experiences and more.

The organizations coming together for this include the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, The Detroit Wine Organization, Kroger Co. of MI, Delta Air Lines and others.

The action is on October 14 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Gleaners’ Warehouse & Distribution Center, located at 2131 Beaufait Street in Detroit.

Tickets are $85 for general admission or $150 for the VIP Experience. All guests must be 21 years old, with a valid ID to attend. Ticket are available at www.detroituncorked.com or call (248) 504-1962.
