If you’ve never heard of a banana race we don’t want to ruin the surprise, but click here to see what it’s all about. Friday – JobbieNooner – If you’ve never heard of JobbieNooner, you may want to listen up. This annual event brings summer debauchery to a new level, and has rightfully been named the Mardi Gras of the Midwest – yes, beads and all. It goes down on Gull Island on Lake St. Clair, which is only accessible by boat, so if you don’t own your own you might want to finally befriend that annoying coworker who keeps asking you to go fishing. The details of the event are pretty loose, and it’s definitely for the more adventurous, but you can ask any questions in the public group on Facebook. Also, we highly recommend checking out this survival guide. Oh, and for the love of all things sacred, DO NOT bring your children to this event, or risk scarring them for life. This one isn’t for the kiddos.
