Hey there everyone!

How has your week been so far? Things have been going pretty good over here.

Father’s Day is this Sunday, so if you’re a dad I hope that you have a great day.

Let’s get on with the round up of things to do in Oakland County, shall we?

Drag Queen Bingo

I’m not sure if you know this, but I have a giant soft spot for drag queens. I also love to go to bingo. So in mind it’s great when you combine the two for Drag Queen Bingo.

There will be two nights of Drag Queen Bingo at the Ferndale Elk Lodge on Woodward this Friday and Saturday night.

In addition to the bingo games, there will be a 50/50 raffle.

Tickets are $20 per person. You can buy your tickets here. The money raised from Drag Queen Bingo will go towards Detroit MIST 2021 and Elks charitable projects.

Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 doors open at 7:00 p.m. and bingo starts at 8:00 p.m.

The Ferndale Elks is located at 22856 Woodward Avenue Ferndale, MI 48220

Blast Into Summer

This Saturday Royal Oak will be celebrating the opening of its newest parking garage on 11 Mile Road by throwing a Blast into Summer party.

Yep, I’m about to write about a party for the new parking garage in downtown Royal Oak.

So, there will be plenty of stuff happening during the all day party.

The first 100 people will get a free Royal Oaks bag and will have a chance to enter a raffle for prizes. Who doesn’t like free stuff?

Namaste Yoga will be leading a yoga class on the roof of the garage at 9:00 a.m. You can sign up for the class here.

Bring the kiddos out for the “Pop up Park” that Toyology will be hosting between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. There will be children’s activities, refreshments, arts and crafts and games.

Saturday, June 15 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The Royal Oak 11 Mile Garage is located on 11 Mile between Main Street and Troy Street.

West Ferndale City Wide Garage Sale

I think I’ve established that I love a good garage sale.

This Saturday is going to be the annual West Ferndale City Wide Garage Sale, and it’s going to be off the chain.

I suggest hitting up the bank to get a variety of bills to make shopping and haggling easier.

Some might even have beverages to keep you hydrated.

Check out the map with all of the participating garage sales to plan out your garage sale route.

Saturday, June 15 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (Some garage sales will have multiple dates and hours.)

Multiple locations through Ferndale.

Super Hero Day

It’s time to pull out those super hero costumes that are in the back of your closet for the annual Super Hero Day at Jim’s Frostie Treats in Royal Oak.

If you sport your super hero costume you will get a free $2 ice cream cone or a dollar discount on your ice cream treat.

Heck, even if you don’t have a costume you can still head over to Jim’s to take pictures with some super heroes. If you head over there in the evening you’ll even be treated to a movie.

Saturday, June 15 from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Jim’s Frostie Treats is located at 1528 East 11 Mile Road Royal Oak, Michigan 48067

Father’s Day Buffet

You know what my dad would have loved to do this Father’s Day if he were still here?

He would have wanted to eat a ton of Polish food he didn’t have to cook.

This Sunday the American Polish Cultural Center will be hosting a Father’s Day Buffet.

My dad would have loved going to this buffet.

The buffet is $23 for adults and $11 for children 4 to 12 years old. Children under 4 are free.

Sunday, June 16 from 11:00 a.m. until 4;00 p.m. Reservations are required, so you better call them now at 248-689-3636.

The American Polish Cultural Center is located at 2975 E Maple Road Troy, Michigan 48083
