The popular board game Monopoly Here & Now just got a little closer to home for Detroiters. Our city has secured a spot on the game’s board!

Monopoly lovers around the world voted and named Detroit as one of the cities to grace the Monopoly Here & Now board. More than four million votes from 182 countries went through the website, and Detroit emerged a winner.

It seems that the rest of the nation, and the world for that matter, has finally realized what Detroiters knew all along – Detroit rocks, and it deserves some recognition.

We’re getting a spot in the red, next to Boston and Milwaukee – you can check out a full preview of the square below.
